Our Story
Born From Resilience
In 2020, as the world stood still, Tito Ortiz and his family made a decision that would change everything. Laid off during the COVID-19 pandemic, they pooled their life savings — $15,000 — bought their equipment, and launched Rude Bwoys Jerk BBQ on the streets of Wilmington, NC.
"We took our life savings of $15,000, bought our equipment and we made it happen."
— Tito Ortiz, OwnerWhat started as necessity became a calling. Tito's Caribbean-inspired slow-smoked BBQ — loaded nachos, hand-pulled jerk pork, crispy empanadas, papa rellenos — quickly earned a devoted following across Wilmington's bars, breweries, and events.
After facing hardship that would have stopped most people cold, Tito chose to keep going. Not just as a business owner, but as a father honoring the dream his family built together. Every plate that comes off this truck carries that story.
